Send Your Pet Safely And Comfortably With The Puppy Shipping Experts

Pets are part of the family, which means they deserve every measure of care and attention to ensure that whenever they are travelling, they’re doing so in a comfortable and de-stressed environment.

This is especially true when it comes to younger pets which is why we focus so much care and attention on making sure that our puppy shipping services are second to none.

Travelling with pets by air is an extremely safe option. However, there are a number of steps you need to undertake to make sure that your pet has a positive experience.

Here are some of the key things to consider when planning your puppy’s trip.

First, it’s extremely important that you discuss any long-distance travel with your vet. Your puppy needs to be in good health, and all vaccine requirements need to be up to date.

This is particularly important when travelling internationally, as different countries have different vaccine requirements. And the last thing you want is for your puppy to end up in quarantine for an extended period of time.

Research the country’s import rules to make sure nothing is left to chance. Also, remember that separating a puppy from its mother can be tough. Make sure you provide as supportive environment as possible.

Why Choose Pet Express

Simply put: we’ll treat your puppy like our own (and we LOVE puppies). We’ve been trusted to look after and relocate pets all over the world for more than 40 years. We’re family owned and operated, and when we say ‘family’, that includes the furry members, too.

Our values are simple. We love pets. We believe there is something special about the relationship between a puppy and it’s new family, and our mission is to make sure that we support that in every way we can.

That means providing the highest level of care when dealing with your pets. We really do treat them like our own.

The Pet Express Difference

Every puppy is unique, and the way we treat every single one of our clients’ pets needs to reflect that. Dog breeds are susceptible to different ailments, or prefer different conditions, and we need to be aware of that when planning your puppy’s shipping.

That extra attention to the wellbeing of your puppy is what sets Pet Express apart. If there’s a flight delay, your pet will never be left on a hot tarmac (as has been known to happen in the industry).

With Pet Express, you get the peace of mind that your puppy is being truly looked after and cared for.

How much does it cost to ship a puppy by air?

Puppy Shipping costs can vary depending on a number of key factors, such as the point of origin, destination, the size of your puppy, as well as some other considerations.

That means that every pet move is unique. So we provide you with a custom quote that tells you exactly how much it will cost to ship your puppy in the safety and comfort it deserves.

Here’s a list of standard items you can expect to pay for in most cases:

  • The travel crate – these are specifically designed to make sure your puppy has a comfortable journey
  • The airfare – these can vary a lot depending on the exact route
  • Travel to and from the airport
  • Vet visits before departure – don’t forget to include vaccination costs so you won’t have any hiccups on arrival in the destination country
  • Health documents and important permits – essential for any international moves
  • Customs and quarantine fees where applicable

Our quote process is as comprehensive as possible, but there may still be some items that you need to research yourself (such as vet and vaccination fees).

How old does my puppy have to be to fly internationally?

It’s generally advisable to wait until your puppy is at least 16 weeks old before embarking on any long-distance travel. 16 weeks gives your puppy enough time to build up its immune system and grow strong enough for the rigours of air travel.

Additionally, it means that your puppy can be fully vaccinated by then.

There are some countries that allow entry to younger dogs – this depends entirely on your destination country’s requirements.

Puppy Shipping Scams

One thing you should definitely be aware of before purchasing any pet, is the increase in puppy sales scams. Unscrupulous individuals or companies try to sell pets online, receiving money, with no intention of supplying a healthy pet in return.

To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, here are some key things to look out for when purchasing online:

  • Is the puppy seller trying to force you to wire money via Monogram or Western Union?
  • Is the seller’s email address a proper URL, or does it have spammy letters and characters in it?
  • Does the seller’s email address URL point to a legitimate website?
  • Have you checked online reviews?
  • Do the online reviews support the specific seller you’re looking at (not an imitation site, for example)?
  • Is the puppy “free” except for shipping costs?

If in doubt, perform further due diligence to make sure you’re getting the puppy you’re paying for.
